Burglar escapes police after attempted break-in

They were called to Vicarage Park in Douglas after the homeowner foiled a break-in attempt.  

 

There was a heavy police presence in the area with officers checking vehicles trying to enter and leave the estate and talking to the people who live there - however no arrests were made. 

 

Cash and jewellery were also stolen in another burglary at Ballamilligan on Mount Rule during the course of the evening. 

 

Police are still appealing for the public to report suspicious activity, as it is happening, such as people lurking around properties and calling at your door.
