    Businesses backing biosphere bid

    Miles Pettit and Peter Longworth

    The Isle of Man deserves to achieve UNESCO status as a world biosphere region.

    That's according to environmental planning officer Peter Longworth. 
     
    He says it's time the Island was recognised for its efforts in promoting the use of local produce: 
     
     
    The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture is leading the bid for the Island to become the first entire country to achieve the accreditation.
