Castletown Commissioners raising rates by around 2.5 percent

Castletown's local authority says it's putting its rates up by just over 2.5 percent this year.

Commissioners says they've to raise the rates from 388p in the pound to 398.

This year's fixed waste fee for households will be £230 - a rise of £10 on last year's figure.

On Facebook, the local authority says just over 30 per cent of its income is spent on staffing, while just under 30 per cent goes towards refuse and sanitation.
