Mark Cavendish narrowly missed out on his first win of the season yesterday in the opening stage of the Tour of Oman.

Mark Cavendish narrowly missed out on his first win of the season yesterday in the opening stage of the Tour of Oman.

Cav finished second to Theo Bos in a bunch sprint finish.

It’s positive news for Cav though who has had a shaky start to the season with crashes and poor placing in both the Tour Down Under and last week’s Tour of Qatar.

Today’s second stage will see the riders take on the 139km ride to Al Wutayya.
