Chester man jailed after sending drugs though the post

30-year-old David Morris has been jailed for 11 months after pleading guilty to being unlawfully concerned in the production of cannabis. 

 

He posted two parcels containing the Class B drug to an address in Onchan on July 14th - one of them was intercepted at the Isle of Man Post Office. 

 

It contained 246g of cannabis skunk which had a street value of £1,736 - police arrested Morris when he travelled to the Island two days later. 

 

Morris's advocate told the court he accepted he'd done wrong but had gained nothing from it adding as a result he'd missed the birth of his child. 

 

Sentencing him Deemster Montgomerie told him "You've paid a heavy price for doing a favour for a friend however it was self-inflicted. Serve your time and learn your lesson".

 

He also imposed an exclusion order on Morris banning him from the Island for five years.
