Chris Thomas last night became the latest member of the House of Keys.
Douglas Councillor Chris is taking the Douglas West seat, left vacant when Geoff Corkish was elected to the legislative council.
There was a below average turn out for the election, with just under 40% of the constituency turning out to vote.
He secured the seat with 676 votes with fellow Councillor John Skinner trailing by almost 300 votes.
