Council to clamp down on chewing gum issues

Douglas Town Council will be launching a campaign encouraging people to take more pride in their town.

In line with the Keep Britain Tidy scheme they will be encouraging people to stop spitting out chewing gum on the streets.

If caught this type of littering can carry a heft fine.

Council leader David Christian said this campaign is of particular importance currently as Douglas undergoes its regeneration.
