Councillor Christian Hopefull that Bowl Work Can Be Completed by 2011
Councillor David Christian has said since the Douglas Council withdrew from the 50/50 deal with the Government to refurbish the Bowl Stadium in time for the Commonwealth Youth Games, they have offered the Stadium back to the Government for a nominal fee of £1.
The economic climate has drastically affected progress on the Bowl re-development, and Councillor Christian said if the work is to be done a deal will have to be reached very soon.
As it stands the Government have asked for a Corporation Car Park to be included in the deal, something the Council are greatly opposing.
Councillor Christian said he hopes to get the issue resolved soon, so work can begin.
