The Manx government has set out new rules to control the spread of COVID-19 in schools.
Protective measures against the spread of COVID-19 are being put in place in schools across the island ahead of the new school term.
The Manx government is promising increased ventilation, carbon dioxide monitors and enhanced hygiene.
With attendance now compulsory, all students and staff (with the exception of primary pupils) are being encouraged to wear face coverings in school and on buses, and take two lateral flow tests each week at home.
These groups are asked to start using LFDs the week before they return to face-to-face lessons.
Anyone who tests positive is being asked to isolate immediately and book a PCR test online or by calling 111.
It is hoped these measures will mitigate against the risks of COVID-19 while ensuring schools remain open for face-to-face education.
If any student feels unwell or develops any COVID-19 symptoms, they're asked not to attend school but stay home, notify their school and follow the latest public health advice.
Parents with concerns about the new school year are being asked to contact head teachers directly.
The advice does not apply to primary pupils.
