A Ramsey Comissioner says the decision process to increasing rates is ‘long and difficult’.
Juan McGuinness, the authority’s lead member for finance does says however he is ‘comfortable’ the commissioners will break even with the new rate.
Ramsey Commissioners is raising its rates for the next financial year to 467 pence in the pound, which will be the second highest on Island.
The local authority says it has to find a ‘balance’ between the operation of the commissioners and the financial pressures of its residents.
