The Department of Infrastructure has confirmed an agreement to develop one of the Island’s premier marine sites.
The developer Sea Breezes Properties Ltd will start work on the former Port Erin Marine Laboratory site for a mixed-use development including a hotel, café, lecture theatre, dive centre and offices.
Sea Breezes will now be looking to submit a detailed planning application in respect of the development.
Subject to approval, the company will then enter into a 125-year lease for the site.
Minister David Cretney said it was an important step for the town and the facilities would be first class.
