Development agreement exchanged for Lord Street site

The Department of Infrastructure has exchanged a development agreement with the company due to regenerate the Lord Street bus station site.

Askett Hawk will now submit designs to the planning division which will include a 120 bedroom four star hotel, serviced apartments and restaurants as well as 150 car parking spaces.

The company was named as the preferred developer in 2006 and awarded a 999 year lease for the site in March 2008.

Infrastructure Minister David Cretney told 3FM that while the agreement means things will move forward it may take years to complete:
