Douglas regeneration project scoops award

Regenerating Douglas's retail area has helped scoop an accolade at the Natural Stone Awards.

Work on Nelson Street, Wellington Street and Regent Street won the landscaping category at the event in London on Friday.

Judges described the project, carried out by the Department of Infrastructure, as "uplifting and exemplary" saying the stonework brings brightness and light into the capital.

The use of Archibald Knox inspired paving, furniture and artwork was also praised.
