Douglas is set to keep its mayor, if councillors vote to confirm her nomination.
The council says at a special private meeting today, Natalie Byron-Teare was selected as mayor for the coming year.
She was first elected to the council in 2016 and served as mayor last year.
The Annual Council Meeting on Wednesday, May 8 will vote on whether to confirm her appointment.
