Fire Service Urge Householders To Have Boiler Regularly Serviced

A reminder has gone out to homeowners to ensure their boilers are serviced by a qualified engineer at least once a year.

The appeal has come after the fire crews attended a house in Castleward Green Douglas after niehgbours reported thick black smoke issuing from the property.

The oil fired boiler had developed a fault causing the black smoke discharge.

Although the house was not on fire there was a serious risk of it escalating.
