First full sitting of Tynwald for new Government

Today will mark the first full sitting of Tynwald with the Island’s new Chief Minister, MHKs and Ministerial line-up for the next 5 years.

Its been a busy week leading up to today with Allan Bell elected into the top job last week and the allocation of positions finalised on Friday.

New Education and Children Minister Peter Karran will be probing the Treasury as to whether the revised revenue sharing agreement with the UK will be published under the common purse arrangement, and whether that agreement has now been signed with the UK.

New MHK Kate Beecroft will raise the issue of waiting lines in Noble’s Hospital and what measures are being taken to reduce them.

Speaker of the House Steve Rodan will asking for more details to do with the review being carried out by the Safeguarding Children board on 2 individuals who have been jailed for the grievous bodily harm and willful neglect of a child

The sitting will commence at 10.30am.
