Proposals for a replacement TT footbridge in Douglas have been put forward to planning officials.
The Department of Infrastructure has submitted proposals for a new structure on Glencrutchery Road after the previous one was closed off and eventually taken down due to its deteriorating condition.
In its application, the DOI says the new layout has greater emphasis on health and safety and would have DDA access meaning those who have difficulty using the stairs would still be able to use the bridge to cross the busy highway.
Officials add having new walls on the Douglas Cemetery side would mean the bridge could stay open 24/7 throughout the year.
