A fisherman who didn't keep a lookout and hit a yacht, capsizing it, will appear in court again later this month.
Lee Scott of Chapel Street in Whitehaven admitted failing to maintain a lookout and failing to determine he was at risk of collision on May 22 last year.
Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes heard a father and son aboard the yacht were thrown into the sea when Scott's vessel, the Enigma 1, hit it in Manx waters.
However, she said she wasn't sure her sentencing powers were sufficient without more evidence - Scott's the first person ever to be prosecuted under the maritime laws.
Mrs Hughes granted bail in the sum of £1,000 and Scott will appear again on November 21.
