Flights cancelled as winds batter Island

A number on flights both on and off Island have been cancelled this afternoon amid poor weather.

Today's flights to London, Manchester, Liverpool and Edinburgh have all been called off.

It comes as a yellow weather warning for severe gales is currently in place on Island - with gusts of up to 75mph expected.

Ronaldsway Met Office has reported some travel disruption is likely as well as minor structural damage, with a risk of falling trees or branches.

Further, an amber weather for coastal overtopping will come into force from later this afternoon.
