    Housing review up for consultation

Chris Robertshaw said it was crucial Government continued to provide 'prudent' and 'robust' housing

Social Care has announced the launch of a 12-week consultation on the findings of a recent housing review.

Minister Chris Robertshaw said the cost to the taxpayer was set to increase significantly over the next few years with regards to public sector housing and first-time buyers costs.

But he added that it was essential Government continued to provide prudent and robust housing.

The review looked at the long-term forecast for the types of public and private houses required over the next 20 years.

It also examined potential policy options, which would ensure housing options for all are met, as well as a closer look at first-time buyers’ needs.

A copy of the document can be found on the government website and all comments on the review must be submitted by Thursday, June 7.
