Iconic aircraft to perform display over Douglas Bay this evening

Get to the prom for 7.30pm for your chance to see the only flying Vulcan left in the world

An iconic and much loved aircraft will be flying over the Isle of Man this evening performing a display for the gathered spectators on Douglas promenade.

The Avro Vulcan was designed in the late 40s and was in operation during the 'Cold War' years; the plane headed to the Isle of Man is the last flying Vulcan left in the world.

It made a triumphant return to the air in the Summer of 2008 following a huge £7 million fundraising effort; it now takes part in an average of 25 air displays each year.

The distinctive shape of the craft and famous howl of it's engines are what its become best known for when performing for crowds.
