Increase in number of ambulances being called to schools

The number of ambulances being called to schools more than doubled last year.

A Freedom of Information request to the Department of Education, Sport and Culture asked how many times ambulances had been called for students and staff over the last six years.

In 2022, paramedics were called in six times across the Island - but last year that figure was 13.

So far this year, seven ambulances have been called to primary or secondary schools.
