24 year old Ben Bateson from Douglas is caught up in Hurricane Sandy after travelling to New York for a shopping trip. The city that never sleeps is battening down the hatches - with the subway system and Broadway already closed - because winds of up to 100mph and surge flooding are expected imminently.
Flights to and from the east coast - including the one Ben was due to be coming home on today - have been cancelled leaving him with nothing to do except sit and wait.
