It has now been confirmed that Jessops photography store based in the Strand Shopping Centre will be closing its doors for good.
There was speculation as to whether the Island's branch would be affected by plans to axe a number of the stores across the UK.
It was announced earlier this week that the advent of smartphone photography had played its part in a major downturn in profit, which eventually led the company into administration.
