A 67 year old who had his mobile phone in his hand while driving has been fined £250.
Peter Frederick Heyes of Slieau Curn in Kirk Michael was spotted by an officer on foot patrol in Victoria Street in Douglas on October 3.
Heyes told Douglas Magistrates he hadn't been using his phone to make a call or enter any information, but wanted to make a note of a telephone number.
As well as his fine, he was also ordered to pay £50 costs and given four points on his driving licence.
