The chairman of Manx Utilities has apologised to all villagers in Laxey affected by the major flooding, which took place earlier this month.
Around two hundred people gathered in the Pavilion at the Laxey Glen Gardens last night (10 October) to question Dr Alex Allinson and other government ministers over an event many saw as ‘completey avoidable’.
Some who spoke were furious and claimed little had been done to prevent to the flooding, with clear warning signs ignored by the departments involved.
Others called for assistance over insurance issues, and wanted promises that action would be taken swiftly.
The Chief Minister has announced an independent review will take place into the extreme weather event.
