Liverpool drug importer has jail term cut

A Merseyside man who posted £31,000 worth of drugs to the Isle of Man has had his prison sentence cut.

In February, Paul Joseph Rowan of Darwall Road in Garston was convicted of importing cocaine and cannabis and jailed for 10 and a half years.

However, he appealed against his sentence, saying he'd posted the drugs because he owed £4,000 to drug dealers and claiming his sentence was excessive.

Judge of Appeal Cross and Acting Deemster Gough agreed, and cut his sentence to eight years in prison.
