Could Manx kippers be set to make a comeback as the fish rises in popularity in the UK?
The Big Issue magazine has published a feature about kippers, claiming growing amounts are being sold in the UK.
It quotes George Clarke of the Marine Stewardship Council who says the last two years have seen huge increases in sales.
However, the article says authentic kippers such as those produced on the Island are facing challenges from "fake kippers", which use a liquid marinade to give a smoky flavour and dyes to produce their distinctive gold colour.
