An MHK has accused the Department of Social Care of crippling the social fabric of the Isle of Man.
John Houghton is angry at plans to withdraw the payments of pensions, allowances and benefits at Post Office counters.
He wants to know what consultation the department has undertaken before progressing the idea.
The department says it has stemmed from plans to corporatise the Post Office.
However the North Douglas MHK says it will be damaging if progressed:
