MHK probes burglary epidemic

It's the million dollar question - why exactly has there been such a dramatic crime spike on the Island since the start of the year?

Onchan MHK Peter Karran demanded answers in the House of Keys yesterday after the burglary epidemic.

Home Affairs Minister Juan Watterson didn't have a definitive answer but said with 39 outstanding burglary reports and still no one in custody it's a top priority for the police.

He was asked if he considers the recent police cutbacks to be part of the problem:
