Michelle Mone commences public 'fight back' after PPE scandal 'lies'

Michelle Mone has said she has done 'nothing wrong' in her first interview since the £200 million PPE scandal broke.

During the pandemic PPE Medpro, a company owned by Michelle Mone's husband Doug Barrowman, were awarded two huge contracts for surgical gowns and facemasks totalling over £200 million - it transpired however that the gowns were never used as they were deemed not fit for purpose; the Department of Health and Social Care are suing the company as a consequence.

Speaking in a youtube documentary produced by PPE Medpro she said both she and her husband Doug Barrowman were sick and tired of reading lies in the media every single day.

In the documentary Barroness Mone claims the government were fully aware of her involvement in PPE Medpro from the outset, and she merely acted as a conduit to make the deal happen, which she saw as a win for the NHS as they were selling the gowns under value, in what had become a very inflated marketplace.

In another major revelation she claimed a negotiator from the DHSC implied they could make their criminal investigation disappear if they were prepared to make a large financial offer.

She said she feels bitterly betrayed by the Tory party, who she used to support, and feels she has been made a scapegoat for their own PPE failings, which saw billions spent on unusable items.

Concluding she said she feels confident they will win the lawsuits they currently face, as they've done nothing wrong.
