Minister Teare: Businesses must assess stock

Eddie Teare refused to condemn the Steam Packet, saying in fact the company had ‘done well’ under the circumstances.

He also said that the catalogue of recent cancellations hadn't had much of an impact on the economy and it's nothing that a few days of uninterrupted sailing won't fix..

In the future, Mr Teare said the island must have an adequate supply of stock in all areas, especially heading into next winter.

He said shops and businesses must begin to load more stock on-island if more disruption next year is to be avoided (see audio).
