Mothercare has confirmed to 3FM that the Early Learning Centre in Douglas is to close early next month.
The children’s toy shop which is located in the Strand Centre, is owned by Mothercare, and will have its last day trading on May 9th.
The closure will result in seven job losses – one full time manager’s position and six part time staff.
Some of the shop’s stock will be absorbed into the current Mothercare store which is also in the Strand Centre.
Yesterday (Thursday) Mothercare announced it would be closing 173 Mothercare stores and 27 Early Learning Centre stores after a drop in sales.
