There are currently four gritting teams deployed across the Island that will be working until late this evening.
Their primary responsibility will be ensuring that the busy routes are clear for the rush hour period.
They will also be ‘pre salting’ due to both the possibility of both wintry showers and dipping overnight temperatures.
The Mountain Road has now reopened to traffic and the buses are all back to schedule, but motorists are urged to drive with extreme caution.
