The man in charge of reviewing the Scope of Government says it could be a case of “more pain, more gain”.
Chief officer Colin Kniveton has started a 12 month secondment working to progress a comprehensive review of government.
He’ll be responsible for overseeing the services that departments, statutory boards and offices carry out to determine how to cut costs and help streamline operations.
Mr Kniveton says he’s aware of the significance of the review and believes tough decisions will have to be made:
