Infrastructure Minister Michelle Haywood says her department hasn't changed any rules about disposing of microwave ovens.
In Tynwald this week she faced questions from Arbory, Malew and Castletown MHK Jason Moorhouse.
He wanted to know about changes made by the DOI, but Dr Haywood said it was the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture that had new regulations.
She said a new contractor took over exporting waste electrical items earlier this year:
