The Cabinet Office says it hasn't instructed civil servants to refer to migrants and immigrants in any specific way.
A Freedom of Information request asked what new definitions, nouns or terms had been imposed by the UK government on the Isle of Man when discussing immigration.
It also wanted to know how public servants had been told to refer to migrants and immigrants in internal correspondence.
The Cabinet Office, however, said no such instructions had been given or received.
