Northern roadworks cancelled days after being started

The Department of Infrastructure started work to reconstruct and resurface Lezayre Road on Monday. 

 

However issues with access and keeping traffic moving have called a stop to the works - workers were reportedly finding it difficult to work on one side of the road at a time. 

 

Following a meeting between the department, police, business community, schools and local MHKs last night a decision has now been taken to stop all work until next year.
