 
                            
The Office of Fair Trading have recently dealt with inquiries concerning traders who have been collecting second hand clothing for charitable purposes.
Those collecting do so by first dropping off a collection bag through letterboxes, picking up on a set date.
Anyone doing this first must obtain a free of charge licence from the Police.
There have been incidents reported in the past of rogue traders carrying out this scam, and then reselling the clothing at car boot sales.
The collectors must contact the police and get their Charitable Collection Licence.
