The Department of Infrastructure's urging people to be good neighbours and help clear their areas of ice.
In an update on Facebook, it says gritters are out around the Island treating road surfaces.
But it says people can help themselves and their neighbours by using salt in the 1,000 bins across the Island to treat pavements or junctions.
And the department says people can get in touch if their bin is out of salt and needs refilling.
