People are being asked to think twice about using garden sprinklers or hose pipes.
The Water and Sewerage Authority has implemented its dry weather plan after the recent bout of good weather.
Reservoir levels are being monitored and water has been transferred from a number of reservoirs to supplement the supply to the Water Treatment Works.
Despite outbreaks of showers there is no significant rainfall predicted in the near future.
Water quality manager Karen Westcott says while there is no ban in place people need to be mindful:
