A playground in Ballasalla looks set to receive major investment from a local authority, in a bid to turn into the area into a ‘great community asset’.
Malew Commissioners have released designs for the remodelling of Feigh Keign field on Abbots Way, which could cost an estimated £100,000.
The local authority wants to improve drainage, replace old play equipment, lay a footpath around the perimeter and put in new park benches and picnic tables in the playground.
The commissioners will seek borrow funds to support the project, with work being done in stages.
Designed by Modus Architects, the plans seek to promote the site as ‘ a valuable public green for use and enjoyment by all ages, abilities and interests’.
Though not included in the first stage of development, a ‘banstand’ area has been planned, and could be built in future.
