    Police clampdown on defective vehicles

    Motorists are being warned to make sure their vehicles are fit for the road this winter.

    Police are carrying out spot-checks around the Island in a bid to clampdown on people driving defective cars and vans. 
     
    On Monday seven vehicles were stopped which had lights out - they were given a chance to get them repaired without a fine being imposed.
