    Police clampdown on inconsiderate cyclists

    The constabulary has launched a new campaign reminding cyclists that ‘Pavements are for Pedestrians’.

    Operating under that banner the campaign is looking to flag up the dangers posed to pedestrians by irresponsible cyclists.

    A recent open forum between the public and the police revealed a number of people were concerned about what they branded inconsiderate cyclists.

    Anyone found to be contravening the new rules will be stopped and spoken to by the police.

    Inspector James Hyatt says although they wouldn’t want to, bye laws can, and will be enforced:
