People are being urged not to use Facebook to speculate on crimes after CCTV footage circulated of a man stealing a charity box.
Police have confirmed a man has been arrested following the theft from Ali's Shop in Douglas on Saturday.
The footage was leaked onto social media by a third party and sparked a fiery response - officers are now asking people to refrain from speculating and giving names of those allegedly responsible.
