Public to be consulted over new HOK constituencies

The public will be asked for their opinion on how the House of Keys constituencies could be redrawn to achieve equality amongst voters.

The Boundary Review Committee, which is independent from government, has been given approval by Tynwald to consult on the matter. 

At present the number of votes each voter has varies between constituencies and there is a great variation in the number of voters per MHK. 

Four public meetings will take place this month to find out what local people think about a new structure and a number of options will be discussed including one all Island constituency with 24 members. 

However chair of the committee, Sally Bolton, told 3FM there were no pre-conceived ideas:
