Public urged to support Island's Mothercare

The public have been urged to support Mothercare in light of the announcement that a number of UK stores are to close.

Last week the baby retailer announced it would be closing 173 stores and 27 Early Learning Centres, which the group also owns, including the Douglas toy shop.

However according to the manager of the Strand Centre the Island’s branch of Mothercare is not earmarked for closure.

Speaking to 3FM John Shakespeare said it was important for people in the Isle of Man to get behind the store at this time:
