Radioactivity levels are no cause for concern

Radioactivity levels on the Isle of Man are within acceptable limits and give no cause for alarm.

The government's laboratory has published its annual report for 2013 - it conducts routine monitoring of seafood, marine sediments and seaweed to assess the impact of radioactive material. 
 
In particular it measures waste discharges from the Cumbrian nuclear waste reprocessing plant Sellafield which lies just 32-miles away.
