The Ramsey Swing Bridge could be closed for over a week.
The bridge shut to vehicles yesterday after the Department of Infrastructure identified some damage to the deck.
A full assessment is being carried out and repairs are being arranged but the bridge could be shut until January 31.
The bridge is still open and available to pedestrians.
