A Douglas Councillor says residents raised ‘legitimate concerns’ over the Westmoreland Road development at a public meeting.
Devon Watson, says more housing is ‘needed’ but the Manx Development Corporation should be ‘listening’ to the locals who live nearby.
One resident said nobody is ‘against the development’ but this in particular ‘doesn’t address’ what the area needs.
Concerns were also raised about parking spaces, the scale of the development and the lack of affordable homes in the plan.
Councillor Watson says he will be lobbying the government about the problem.
Manx Development Corporation’s plan involves building133 homes, 20,000 square feet of office space and four retail units.
